Greenbrier Country Democratic Women's Club June Meeting

Please join us for the next meeting of the Greenbrier County Democratic Women's Club on Tuesday, June 25 at 5:30 PM at the Ascend Office, 774 S. Court Street, Lewisburg.

As we mark the second anniversary of the Dobbs Supreme Court decision taking away the constitutional right to abortion, we are honored to have as our guest speaker Ramsie Monk, the Development Director for Women’s Health Center of West Virginia and Maryland, who will share important updates on the work they're doing in a post-Roe world.

In 2020, Ramsie joined Women's Health Center of West Virginia, one of the few abortion providers in the state for almost five decades. For the past four years, Ramsie has led the development efforts at WHC, raising millions of dollars in donations from individuals and grant funding to help promote the center's services.

Ramsi, along with WHC's executive director, Katie Quinonez, was instrumental in founding the Women's Health Center of Maryland. This new reproductive health clinic in Mountain, Maryland, opened its doors in September 2023 in direct response to the Supreme Court's overturning of Roe v. Wade in 2022 and the subsequent abortion bans enacted by anti-abortion legislators in West Virginia.

Combining her passion with a sense of purpose, Ramsie is dedicated to providing life-saving reproductive health care to the people in her community who need it the most. She strongly believes everyone has the right to choose if, when, and how they start their families.
